FSI Deputy Director-General Joins R2P Center Advisory Board

Deputy Director-General Julio S. Amador III of the Foreign Service Institute recently joined the International Advisory Board of the Asia Pacific Center for the Responsibility to Protect (APR2P) during its tenth anniversary conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 26-27 February 2015.

APR2P is the only regional center of its kind specifically dedicated to advancing the responsibility to protect principle through research and policy dialogue. The International Advisory Board is composed of Responsibility to Protect advocates and experts in the region from government, academe, and civil society organizations.

As a member of the International Advisory Board, Deputy Director-General Amador is expected to support Responsibility to Protect’s aims and the prevention of mass atrocities, provide guidance in developing strategies in implementing the AP R2P’s programs, provide feedback on the AP R2P’s Annual Report, promote the AP R2P’s work and advocacy through endorsement of and/or participation in its relevant activities and projects, assist the AP R2P in developing its regional diplomacy and capacity building programs,  and assist the AP R2P in building its network of R2P advocates at the national and regional levels.
