Strategic and Security Studies

The Strategic and Security Studies Section seeks to conduct both anticipatory and reactive studies on global and regional issues, problems and forces, and their probable impact on the Philippines. It tries to identify Philippine interests within the changing Asia Pacific security environment as well as appropriate foreign policy alternative and responses. Presently, the section focuses on the various maritime and territorial issues in East Asia, particularly the South China Sea disputes, and the processes of confidence-building and cooperation within the framework of the United Nations.
